TECE Campus receives the award for "Exemplary Buildings in North Rhine-Westphalia 2025"

The TECE Campus in Emsdetten has been honoured with the prestigious ‘Exemplary Buildings in North Rhine-Westphalia 2025’ award. The prize is awarded every five years by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, represented by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Local Government, Building and Digitalisation, in cooperation with the North Rhine-Westphalia Chamber of Architects.

After intensive discussions, the jury selected 25 projects from a total of 159 submissions that particularly represent the diversity and quality of current construction projects in North Rhine-Westphalia. The TECE Campus is one of these award-winning projects.

A building with charisma

With the construction of the new campus, around 210 employees from previously scattered locations were brought together in a central, modern working environment. The architectural concept – developed by Schilling Architekten GmbH, Cologne – features two interlocking cubes with bright inner courtyards, creating open, light-flooded workspaces and a high quality of working environment.

Sustainability as a foundation

The jury particularly praised the project's comprehensive sustainability concept:

  • 14,000 m² of sealed ground freed up by demolishing the old building
  • Reuse of demolition material for new construction and parking spaces
  • Green roofs as retention areas for rainwater
  • Ecologically designed open spaces as a climate-adapted addition
  • Flexible concrete skeleton for adaptable working environments
  • Energy efficiency and modern building automation

Strengthening identity and future viability

The campus blends harmoniously into the existing corporate structure of office space, production halls and innovation centre. It sets standards for work quality, energy efficiency and sustainable corporate architecture – thereby strengthening TECE's identity.

We are delighted to receive this award and see it as confirmation that ecological responsibility, social quality and economic efficiency can be combined in a corporate building.
