Latest trends and aspects of extended stay projects

Under the header of “At home away from home” more than 30 hospitality professionals and project stakeholders discussed the latest trends and aspects of extended stay projects in the radical innovation award winner Zoku Amsterdam.
On invitation of TECE and the ena - (European Networking Architecture) an architectural and economic alliance - 38 participants from different countries signed in for the event. The participants, a balanced mix of developers, operators, investors, brands as well as designers and architects discussed latest released concepts, market figures and developments of the “Extended Stay”- market including serviced apartments, student residences, aparthotels etc.
During the round table discussion special attention has been paid to different solutions how the bed could be temporarily removed to win more space for day-use activities. Doing so the rentability and return on invest could be optimized. The Zoku Amsterdam has been a creative example of doing so. Traditional concepts such as foldaway beds find new interest as well. In addition, legal aspects and practical applications such as BIM and sustainability solutions has been exchanged.
After a passionate presentation of the Zoku concept by the co-founder Hans Meyer, the participants took the opportunity for a tour through the ZOKU hotel, one of the most award-winning hotels of the last years, with a networking-dinner afterwards.

The event has been part of the TECE´s Design & Networking Event series in cooperation with ena and its member GIRA as well as supported by PKF Hotelexperts, an internationally recognized market leader in the field of hotel consulting.
