Best drinking water quality and a private parking space in front of the room

A completely new hotel concept awaits the guests of the b'mine hotel Frankfurt Airport: With the help of a special lift, they can park their car directly in a private CarLoggia in front of their room called CarLoft - the tedious search for a parking space is no longer necessary. In addition to sophisticated design and first-class gastronomy, the hotel experience is rounded off by state-of-the-art digital services. The hotel's drinking water system is also ultra-modern and digital, as all bathrooms are equipped with TECEprofil toilet modules with hygienic flushing integrated into the cistern - including perfect water quality, digital control and log function via app.

"The patented CarLoft concept actually comes from residential construction, where project developers have already successfully integrated it. For example, in properties where no underground car park could be realised. So it was an obvious idea to develop a corresponding hotel," says Astrid Prüger, Director of Marketing at b'mine Hotels. Families travelling with a lot of luggage or old-timer drivers who don't want to leave their sweetheart alone can now park directly in front of the room door without having to search for a parking space - a different approach to accessibility. A so-called CarLift also transports the vehicles to the upper floors. Of the total of 241 rooms, 40 have their own CarLoft. The CarLoggias also have charging stations for electric cars - with green electricity, of course.

The design concept of the b'mine hotels is intended to offer business travellers and city tourists an all-round pleasant stay. For example, guests can divide their hotel room with curtains to create their own cocooning cave, or indulge in culinary delights in "The Roof" restaurant on the 12th floor with an exclusive view of the Frankfurt skyline. The hotel also sets high standards in terms of digitalisation, as the company's vision includes freedom from paper. Until that happens, guests have the option of doing everything digitally with their smartphones, from booking to check-out.

The hotel is also highly modern when it comes to drinking water hygiene and relies on automated and digital solutions from the building services specialist TECE. In order to automatically guarantee the proper operation of the drinking water system and to prevent the development of microorganisms even during short-term or seasonal vacancies, the b'mine hotel Frankfurt Airport was equipped with TECEprofil toilet modules with integrated hygiene flushing. With this solution, the electronic hygiene flushing unit is integrated directly in the cistern of the toilet module. In a building of this size, this saves additional pipe routes and thus reduces the planning effort and construction costs. In addition, there is no need for an additional inspection opening that could disturb the overall appearance of the bathroom, because the flushing unit is accessible via the opening of the cistern. An aesthetic advantage in design hotels like the b'mine, which has earned the clever product the German Design Award 2021 and the German Innovation Award 2021.

Additional construction time is saved by pre-assembling the components ex works. Since the hygiene flushing unit is installed as the last consumer of looped-through drinking water pipes, not every WC has to be equipped with it either. The flushing unit has two solenoid valves for hot and cold water and a connection for optional connection to the building management system. There is no need for a separate waste water pipe, as it drains off via the overflow of the cistern.

Another practical feature for the operator is the automated log function of the TECEprofil toilet module with integrated hygiene flush. The log can be called up via the free TECEsmartflow app and exported as a PDF file, providing the operator with reliable proof for the health authority - even if it still has to be printed out for the authorities.

The two flush programmes in the app ensure flexibility in operation: shorter interruptions in use can be intercepted with the "Interval" programme, which continuously regulates the flush interval and quantity. With the "Weekdays" flush programme, certain days and times can be selected - practical in hotel operation, because a time can be selected for flushing when there are normally no guests in the room who might feel disturbed. The valve test via app during the first commissioning is also useful: in addition to the first flush, the valves of all units can be tested so that the operator can safely check the functional capability and the allocation of the units.

In the next few years, further b'mine hotels are to be built in German and European destinations. The b'mine hotel Düsseldorf, which is still under construction, will open soon.
