Tested safety only in a complete system

In the Lower Saxony town of Diepenau a new branch is being built for Edeka Röthemeier Handelsgesellschaft mbH. The panel heating system of choice is TECEfloor – a complete system, consisting of stainless steel manifolds, laying fittings, and in this case a total of 13,800 metres of heating piping. That has advantages in comparison with single components from different manufacturers.

The basic conditions are typical of supermarkets: The 3,000 square metres of floor space will be efficiently heated using waste heat recovery from the refrigeration units of the cold storage appliances. 'Heat recovery is an interesting subject here. It enables evenly distributed heating throughout the whole year. Energy consumption and operating costs are far lower than if refrigeration and heating had been planned separately of each other,' says the architect responsible, Thomas Eckhert, from the Schöne A/E firm in Minden. The heat is transferred using the TECEfloor complete system. On the sales floor (1,800 square metres) heat transfer takes place through concrete core activation: On the remaining area, which includes a café on the upper floor, and further sales areas on the ground floor, it uses conventional underfloor heating. Important for operators and installers: The coordinated and tested TECE system guarantees maximum system security, with acoustic insulation, watertightness, and regulation – and in the worst case, optimum warranty rights.
